Driving Directions To Higher Farm B&B
From Chester
- Take the A41 south from Chester (following signs for Whitchurch)
- Follow the A41 out of Chester for about 8 miles, as far as the Broxton roundabout (there’s a garage on the roundabout). Take the 3rd exit, turning right onto the A534 and following signs for Wrexham.
- Stay on the A534 for around 2 miles, passing through the village of Clutton and the entrance to Carden Park on the left.
- The road rises, and at the top of the rise is a crossroads with the Cock o’ Barton pub on the left-hand side – take the right hand turn opposite the pub, into Barton village. (Be careful when turning, as oncoming traffic can be fast.)
- Go straight ahead for around 100m. Give way at the junction if necessary, and look out for the entrance to Higher Farm B&B on the left-hand side – it’s just after A&A Farm Supplies and is signposted.
- Pull up into the car park on the right – there’s plenty of space.
- The front door to the B&B is immediately by the car park and is easy to find.
From Wrexham
- Take the A534 heading east from Wrexham. (If approaching Wrexham on the A483 from the north or south, turn off at Junction 6 north of Wrexham (Acton junction) and take the A5156 link road. This will take you straight to the A534.)
- Stay on the A534 for around 6 miles, by-passing the villages of Holt and Farndon, and crossing the Wales / England border at the River Dee.
- About a mile after the crossroads to Farndon, you’ll pass a Texaco garage on the left hand side. After the garage, the road rises through a short series of bends.
- At the top of the rise there is a crossroads, with the Cock o’ Barton pub on the right-hand side. Turn left opposite the pub into Barton village.

Buses
There is a bus service between Chester and Whitchurch which stops close to Higher Farm, which runs several times a day.

The nearest mainline railway stations are Wrexham and Chester. Both stations have express services to London. Wrexham also serves north Wales, and Chester serves North West England and Merseyside.
