Neil and Heather couldn’t do enough for us, and made us feel so at home. 

The views from where we had breakfast in the dinning room are beautiful. 

We can’t wait to come back to stay in the Shepherds huts :).

					  Lovely stay at Higher Farm.  Stayed 3 nights first week in August.

Main reason for stay was to visit Chester Zoo , which is  not far away.

We... read more were a family of 4, and used 2 rooms.

Accommodation is lovely and very comfortable. 

The  Breakfasts were enjoyed by all, loved the berries and yoghurt to start.!!

Neil and Heather are great hosts, and are very helpful.

The surrounding countryside is very peaceful, and views from farm stunning, especially at sunsets.

The Egerton Arms 5 mins drive away, and Cock O Barton 3 mins walk , both have very good food.

A stay at Higher Farm is highly recommended. Would stay again if in area.

					  This place is a hidden gem, especially the Shepherds Huts! So much so that we were only meant to be staying in the hut for one night and then in... read more the actual B&B the night after but decided to stay in the hut the whole time. 

Our hut was called ‘Ruby Tuesday’ and had all we needed for a 2 night stay. Log fire with unlimited logs plus an electric heater for those cold winter nights, a super comfy bed, kettle, toaster, plates, cutlery, mugs, milk, tea, coffee , sugar, a mini fridge and a radio. They even had a bed pan for anyone like us who decided to watch a horror film one night and were too frightened to leave the hut to use the toilet (although the shower & toilet area which is in the B&B is a few steps away). 

The owners Heather & Neil were great hosts who left us to it so we had the place to ourselves but were there if we had any questions and giving us advice on the local area and keeping us entertained at breakfast. Breakfast is in the B&B the next morning was described as ‘hearty’ and that’s exactly what is was. Two of everything made fresh and served hot with cereals, orange juice and lots of tea & coffee. 

If you are looking for a totally relaxing break in a warm & cosy place whilst feeling like you are in the middle of nowhere then this is your place. Falling asleep to the sounds of the roaring log fire and the cows moo’ing after a day of exploring the area or sat outside the hut with a brew and the fire pit was perfect. Can’t wait to go back for Halloween.

					  We just got back from a lovely three night stay in there Shepherds Hut. They were very comfortable, with views of the Welsh mountains in the distance. The freshly cooked... read more breakfast, cooked to order every morning was delicious and set us up for the day. Heather and Neil were so friendly and helpful we were even given marshmallows and sticks to cook on our fire pit on Saturday evening. Will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone who just wants to relax for a few days it was so peaceful. (Ok apart from the cows ).

					  where to start ! it has been the most amazing few days away with my partner to celebrate my 70th birthday. From the minute we arrived nothing was too much... read more trouble for Heather and Neil the perfect hosts . The breakfasts were beautifully cooked and plentiful. we stayed in "The Stables" room , the bed and pillows were so comfortable ( a must ) but the slipper bath just divine! The location is beautiful and we will certainly be going back again soon- what a gem of a place cannot praise it enough - thankyou to you both from Joan and Peter

					  We stayed here last night as we were going to a charity event at Carden Park. The lady that runs the B&B is amazing  ... I dont think we... read more have  had service like this at any hotel or B&B that we have stayed. She couldn't do enough to make sure that we were happy and had everything we needed. She even dropped us off at the venue for our night out and supplied us with a local taxi number.

The B&B is immaculate and so homely. We couldn't fault a thing it was beautiful and the scenery was stunning. Tiny little details such as blankets on the front door bench to sit out on a night make this B&B so lovely. We will definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone.

I've got to mention the breakfast too... home cooked full breakfast with all the trimmings in such a lovely breakfast room over looking the countryside.. it was so nice to wake up to the sound of the animals outside. We loved it!!!

					  Higher Farm B&B is just so perfect for a little getaway or a flying visit...it will exceed your expectations with its well appointed, spotless rooms and its stunning and spectacular location.
Heather is a delightful and gracious host and nothing was too much trouble when she accommodated a little afternoon soirée for my Mum’s 80th birthday...she even made the birthday cake....amazing and delicious.
Heather is one special lady and creates a wonderful ambience in her B&B rooms and hosting. Heather will work with you to make your stay everything you want it to be.

					  We had a night away from the teenagers in one of the gorgeous Shepherds Huts. Absolutely beautifully decorated  huts and very warm and welcoming owners. Breakfast was delicious and we will definitely be back!

					  Words can’t describe how much great value for money this B&B is. Heather is the hostess with the mostess and nothing is too much trouble. We were staying in the stables, excellent room with en-suite and seperate bath. Breakfast again was second to none and all the food is locally sourced, making it one of the best full English’s I’ve ever tasted. This is a great family run business and extremely welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Would most definitely recommended and will definitely be staying here again. Thanks again Heather & Neil, Tom & Ben

					  From making the first enquiry until the point of departure, it was clear that nothing was too much trouble for Heather and her husband. We spent a couple of comfortable nights in two of their delightful shepherd huts. The huts are fitted out beautifully, they were spotless and are in a lovely location overlooking the Welsh countryside. We also enjoyed Heather’s beautifully cooked breakfasts each morning of our stay. We are looking forward to returning as soon as we can.

					  We had the most amazing experience staying in the Shepard’s huts over half term. They are so beautiful, quirky, cosy and warm. The children loved them and being allowed to run around in the fields did them the world of good.
Heather and Neil are amazing hosts and the breakfast was second to none. 

We will definitely be staying again

There was a natural storm on this evening - the power lines were blown down - so after we returned from our ( not so good ) meal at the local pub - we were plunged into darkness - with no power - and it stayed that way - for the next 24 hrs
Heather  provided Breakfast - ( excellent as always )  even though no electric
This was our third stay and we will still return !! as the rooms are lovely even in the dark !!

My goodness, what luck!  We used all the rooms in the B&B and they were all absolutely delightful and as advertised in pictures.  A warm welcome was given to us by Heather and Neil Armstrong. Breakfast was delicious and we couldn't have stayed in a better place.  The views are magnificent. We were royally looked after. Highly recommended!

The room (Orchard) was huge and maintained to high standards.  Heather is a great host and she went out of her way to source me some local Cheshire honey.  Definitely recommend a stay at Higher Farm.  I had a conference at Carden Park and they couldn't accommodate me.  This is ideal as it's literally 3 minutes down the road. I stayed in the Superior Suite and was one of the best nights sleep I've had in a long time, so comfy! This really isn't your average B&B, will not hesitate to go back if I'm ever in the area again!

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Heather and Neil could not have even nicer or more welcoming.  The views are amazing and I loved the flowers around the door.  Very pretty.  My room was beautiful and spotlessly clean.  I had booked in to complete my dissertation and Heather had put a large desk by the French windows so I could look at the views while I worked.  It was heavenly.  The only sounds were the birds singing, cows and the wind in the trees.  Will definitely visit again.  A sanctuary for the weary student!!!

We stayed two nights on the way south and then north again in the shepherds huts which are beautifully furnished and lovely with fire baskets outside. Our children loved the huts and playing in the meadow outside. Heather and Neil are exceptional hosts ans couldn't have been more welcoming, even helping offer to heat our pizzas for dinner one night when we had had a long drive, and giving the kids marshmallows to toast.
